The application is filed in any of the 3 official languages of the European Patent Office (English, German, French). The application form is divided into 3 main parts: the identified owner, a clear image of the mark and a list of goods and services

Examination of the application. If any errors are found, EUIPO will inform the applicant so that they can correct them

Publication and opposition. From the date of publication, third parties who believe that a trademark is not registrable have three months to oppose it. If an opposition to the registration of a trademark is filed, the procedure for its examination is followed:
- The objection is filed with the EUIPO
- The notice of objection is reviewed for compliance with the requirements of
- If the Notice of Objection is accepted, both parties are invited to submit evidence
- EUIPO issues a decision terminating the proceedings

Registration and publication of the trademark. If there are no objections, EUIPO registers the trademark, publishes it free of charge and issues a certificate of registration. Once the brand is registered, the applicant may use the ® symbol and add the letters MC EU after the trademark

In case of refusal to register a trademark in one of the countries, the protection of the trademark remains in force in other specified countries. The term of protection of an international trademark registration is 10 years and may be extended
