EU trademark registration process (EUIPO)
- 01Trademark Search. Needed to make sure your brand name is unique.
- 02The application is filed in any of the 3 official languages of the European Patent Office (English, German, French). The application form is divided into 3 main parts: the identified owner, a clear image of the mark and a list of goods and services
- 03Examination of the application. If any errors are found, EUIPO will inform the applicant so that they can correct them
- 04Publication and opposition. From the date of publication, third parties who believe that a trademark is not registrable have three months to oppose it. If an opposition to the registration of a trademark is filed, the procedure for its examination is followed:

- 04Request for trademark protection. To be filed in each of the designated countries. If protection is granted, the owner of the international registration has all the rights of the owner of the national trademark
- 05In case of refusal to register a trademark in one of the countries, the protection of the trademark remains in force in other specified countries. The term of protection of an international trademark registration is 10 years and may be extended
The process of registering a trademark in the United Kingdom (UKIPO)
