Founded in 1916 as Banque du Piree SA. The shares have been listed on the Athens Stock Exchange since 1918. Since 1975, the bank has been under the control of the Greek state. In December 1991, it was privatized and changed its name as above. In June 2000, Xiosbank SA and Macedonia Thrace Bank SA merged to form Piraeus Bank SA. Differences between a bank account and a payment system

Verification of a company director by a bank or payment system. When opening an account with a bank, verification can be carried out both remotely and in person

Submission of documents requested additionally and waiting for the final verdict after preliminary approval. The bank or payment system reserves the right to refuse to open an account without giving reasons at any stage
